Hello,
My name is Thaddeus (tj) Erdah. I was born and raised in La Porte City, Iowa. I've exhibited my sculpture and presented workshops regionally and nationally throughout the United States. My art and background in education started at the University of Northern Iowa where I received my BA in Art Education and a BFA in Ceramics. Upon graduation, I substitute taught in the public school system, instructed ceramics courses at a local art center and served as an interim art educator. I actively practiced and teach a variety of art media including ceramics, drawing, assemblage, sculpture, painting, and graphic design. I received my MFA in Ceramics from the University of Florida where I was a University of Florida Alumni Fellowship recipient during my three years of graduate study, from 2006-2009. In the summer of 2008, I attended Think Tank III, a national arts in higher education symposium, as a Graduate Fellowship Recipient. In 2009 I was selected as one of four Artists-in-Residents at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinlburg TN for an 11 month residency program. At the end of my tenure as an Artist-in-Resident, I was offered the position of Program Manager at Arrowmont, where I worked for 6 more months. I just Recently moved to Princeton NJ to pursue my studio art career. I feel very fortunate to be the current Visiting Artist at Princeton Day School, working in the Ceramics Studio and starting in August I'll be an Artist In Resident at the Arts Council of Princeton.
